Foundation

For the monopile model the tower station node at the base of the tower is rigidly attached to the ground and cannot deflect. However a simple foundation model can be specified at the bottom tower station. Use the check boxes to specify whether additional translational and/or rotational stiffness and mass/inertia at the tower base are to be taken into account. If translation is selected, enter the foundation mass and translational stiffness in the appropriate boxes. If rotation is selected, enter the foundation moment of inertia and rotational stiffness. If neither is selected, then no additional stiffness or mass/inertia will be included in the simulation.
