Wave and Current Introduction

Click on Sea state to define the waves, currents and tide height for offshore turbines.

To define waves the user has two choices, either the legacy waves or SEA files option. The Legacy waves allow the user to select a range of linear and non-linear wave models. Constrained waves can be blended into irregular wave sea states. In addition, diffraction affects for slender structures such as jackets can be corrected for using the MacCamy-Fuchs model. SEA files allow a user to simulate multi-directional sea states and is also essential for using the Boundary Element Method when simulation large structures to capture the radiation-diffraction of waves.
