    Licensing

There are two types of licensing used with SolarFarmer:

    1. The SolarFarmer desktop application requires that you have a valid Product Key (software license) in order to run the software.
      • See Desktop licensing for more information on how to set up your software license.

    2. The SolarFarmer API (running calculations in the cloud) requires that you are registered with the SolarFarmer web service and use a valid API token.
      • See Acquiring your Web API Token for more information on acquiring your API token
      • See Running calculations in the cloud from SolarFarmer for how use your API token with the SolarFarmer desktop application.
      • See SolarFarmer's Web API for the starting point on how to use your API token from your own scripts
    Note

If you're happy running calculations locally in the desktop application you don't need an API token.
